I have to admit, as a person who loves his toys, especially the multimedia toys, this is
way up towards the top of my list.
Just a few years ago when Palm handhelds and Pocket PCs were just coming into their own
in terms of multimedia, I dreamed of the day when we could watch live TV on our handhelds.
Never did I dream I would get the capability to not only watch TV, by my own TV, being
connected to my TiVo box, and watching all the programming I pay for each month, no
matter where in the world I may be as long as I can access the Internet.
The Slingbox, from connects to your home cable or satellite system, and
also to your high-speed Internet. Once you have the Slingbox connected, simply install the
included software to your laptop, and to your Treo ($29.99 for the handheld software). Make
sure you have an unlimited Internet plan on your phone to avoid additional usage charges.
For the mobile professional, this is a great way to watch your favorite programs, including
premium programming or channels you won't get at most hotels.
